Knitting Skills Classes

Knit Basics 1 will cover the fundamentals of knitting: cast on, knit, purl and bind off. Knit Basics 2 teaches you how to knit in the round, on circular and double pointed needles, increase and decrease as you make a hat. Coming in the fall: a series of knitting skill builders classes to help you become a more confident knitter. Look for details soon!

Project Based Classes

In these classes the students learn to read patterns and learn the techniques needed for the specific projects. Often this will be mirrored increases and decreases, picking up stitches, short rows and felting. Some project based classes offered are Felted Clogs, a mobius scarf and a top down raglan sweater and socks. Want to learn a particular project, let me know!

Rigid Heddle Weaving

Learn the basics of weaving in a simple way on a Rigid Heddle Loom that is provided to use in the class. You learn to direct warp the loom in a color and weave effect and weave an entire scarf in a weekend using knitting yarns. This summer we will offer a teen weaving class to make a color block bag in a weft faced weave.
